SecTor 2020 is Canada’s largest IT Cyber Security conference, which over the years has built a reputation of bringing together experts from around the world to share their latest research and techniques involving underground threats and corporate defenses.

Due to COVID-19 and for the safety of the entire community, SecTor 2020 will be held entirely online instead of in-person, from October 17-22, 2020 in the Eastern time zone. However, guests will still find the same quality content that they have come to expect at SecTor. Attendees of the conference will be able to log on and view Keynotes from trusted experts and speakers who are security professionals, as well as network virtually with event participants.

The York University School of Continuing Studies is pleased to announce that it will be attending SecTor in a virtual capacity. By visiting the School of Continuing Studies’ Virtual Exhibit Page, attendees will be able to chat live with a team member via video or text, learn more about our Data, Information and Technology professional program offerings, and access further information on our programs.

The School’s Data, Information and Technology programs are taught by industry professionals and feature experiential educational opportunities. Students will also enjoy our cohort delivery format, which allows them to progress through courses with a set group of like-minded peers, facilitating new professional and personal connections throughout the program duration and beyond.

Due to pandemic restrictions, these programs will be offered through 100% online delivery in a blended format that combines live online sessions facilitated by expert instructors with asynchronous coursework online.

The School continues to develop and offer new programs in emerging and high demand technological fields, many of which are the first to market in Ontario. Visitors to the School’s Exhibit page can talk to one of our Continuing Studies Advisor and learn more about both our established and new Data, Information and Technology professional programs, including:

Additionally, School representatives will have more information on its new Short Intensive format of the Cyber Security Program. This new format will give professionals a comprehensive education in cyber security on an accelerated timeline. By enrolling in this format, students can complete the Cyber Security Program in 12 weeks, rather than 10 months.

Upon completion, graduates will have earned a digital badge for the School’s cyber prep course, attained a Certificate in Cyber Security Fundamentals and a Certificate in Advanced Cyber Security and prepared to successfully write the CISSP exam. In addition, students in the program will benefit from a robust set of career services to help them assess their unique strengths, plan their career, find and secure opportunities in their field, and prepare for a successful start in their new role.

There is still time to register to attend the conference, but tickets are selling out fast.

Register today and we will see you virtually at SecTor 2020!
