Integrated Year One

If you've been accepted to York University with a language condition in your offer, Integrated Year One (IYO) is designed for you. With an IELTS score between 5.5 and 6.0 (or equivalent), IYO lets you start your degree while fulfilling your English language requirement.

Tuition: CAD $49,500 (for 2 terms)
Credits Earned: 21 to 24 credits towards your undergraduate degree (minimum 18 required)
Schedule: 20–25 hours/week of classes (credit and non-credit)
Duration: 2 Terms
Program Dates:
- Fall: September 9, 2026 – April 24, 2027
Available LA&PS Programs:
- Business Economics (exists only as a 90-credit BA)
- Economics (BA)
- Commerce (BCom)
Location: Available only at York’s Keele Campus.

Program Structure

Over the Fall and Winter terms of the first year of your undergraduate program, you will work towards completing 24 credits and will benefit from English Language Training & Introduction to Canadian University Culture and Student Supports.

Entry Requirements

A Conditional Offer from York University the faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies.
Applicants must have an academic IELTS 5.5 or 6.0 overall (with no score below 5.0) or equivalent and must meet all other undergraduate academic requirements for their chosen program.

How to apply:

Tuition: CAD $49,500 (for 2 terms)

Fees include:

Up to 24 credits.
10 hours per week of extensive academic and language training support throughout the program (non-credit English language courses)
The IYO program has a flat tuition fee of $49,500 for two terms, covering up to 24 credits for your undergraduate program. This fee remains the same regardless of the number of credits you take within the 24-credit limit.
Fees are to be paid in two $24,750 instalments before the start of each term.

Scholarships

Accommodation

Frequently Asked Questions

Is IYO available for all campuses?

No. IYO is currently only offered at the Keele campus.

What are the intakes (start dates) for IYO?

IYO is available for the Fall (September to December) intake. You need to take the two terms consecutively (you cannot take a break between terms one and two). Note that for you to begin IYO in a specific intake, the undergraduate program you have registered into must be offered for that intake.

How do I pay my registration deposit?

Please see the “Paying from an International Bank Account” section of the “Paying My Account” page. You must pay your deposit to access your course enrolment. You cannot register if you have not paid your deposit.
