What is the YUBridge Program?
The YUBridge Program is designed for high-achieving international high school graduates. After being accepted into the YUBridge program, you will receive a conditional offer of acceptance to York University. Through a combination of English language instruction and academic credit courses, you will meet the minimum language requirement for full admission to York University.
What you will learn
This program consists of 25 hours per week of English language instruction, including Academic English classes, language support, tutorials and lectures. As part of the program, you will take for-credit courses in Liberal Arts, Science, Health, Performing Arts, Media Design, and several others. You will also take one 3-credit course in the first term.
Program Benefits
Once you start in the YUBridge Program, you are considered an undergraduate student at York. You will take the same courses as fully admitted York students, helping to build relationships with the students and instructors in your Faculty.
You will also learn in small academic tutorials led by teaching assistants who have experience working with international students. Our structure tailors the English language course content to suit your undergraduate area of study.
You can participate in interactive clubs both online and in-person, as well as activities and social events organized by York University Community Leaders. Online and face-to-face Conversation Partner sessions are hosted multiple times per week by York University Community Leaders allowing also allow you to practice your language and social skills in a casual and supportive setting with a group of your peers.
