Ontario universities are also attracting a wide variety of mature and returning students heading back to university to upgrade their skills through continuing education, says Bonnie Patterson, president and CEO of the Council of Ontario Universities. “As a result, Ontario universities have expanded their offerings of continuing education programs for those seeking life-long learning opportunities,” she says.
York University, for example, launched a new school of continuing studies along with two new innovative student-centered certificate programs earlier this year and recently introduced two new human resources management certificate programs with full-time and part-time options.
