March 13, 2020 – Announcement of all classes moving online
Dear Students,
This morning the President of York University announced that in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and for the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and faculty, all classes will be moving online for the foreseeable future.
That means that the School of Continuing Studies will be suspending all face-to-face classes beginning Monday, March 16th. Continuing Professional Education programs (certificate and degree preparation) will move online starting Monday March 16th. York University English Language Institute (YUELI) classes are cancelled on Monday March 16th and will resume online Tuesday, March 17th.
While this change is happening quickly, we have been planning for this potential outcome. We are fully committed to providing you with additional information as it becomes available and to support you as required. We ask for your patience as we work together to stay safe and slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
In the coming days, we will be sending you a follow-up email as a reminder on how to access Moodle, along with supporting guidelines. In the meantime, if you have any questions about this transition, we encourage you to access the following resources:
- York’s dedicated COVID-19 webpage, which includes answers to FAQs as well as links to supporting resources
- Your instructor continues to be your first point of contact for any questions pertaining to your online courses and evaluations. For any technical support you require, please contact itscs@yorku.ca
- While our online learning platform is AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) compliant, should you require any incremental medical accommodations for online learning, please submit this form, which includes the steps and process you must follow
- For all other questions, please contact yueli@yorku.ca for questions pertaining to the York University English Language Institute (YUELI), or cpehelp@yorku.ca for any questions pertaining to Continuing Professional Education
We thank you for your understanding and flexibility in this challenging time. Your health and well-being, and that of our broader community, is our top priority. Please follow the instruction of your local public health agency.
Together we can meet the challenge and do our part to flatten the curve of the pandemic. Please care for yourself and others.
