June 28th, 2022 – York to pause mask mandate
Effective June 28, York University will no longer require masks to be worn in indoor spaces.
While face masks will no longer be required on campus, we strongly encourage the York community to continue wearing them to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
No matter what your decision is about wearing a mask, we ask that everyone respect each other’s decisions.
Here are some important reminders:
- York community members should continue to self-monitor for symptoms and must not come to campus if they are feeling unwell.
- We strongly recommend that everyone receives a completed vaccine series, including third or fourth doses, when eligible. You are responsible for keeping your vaccination status up to date on YU Screen.
- Rapid tests can be obtained on Keele and Glendon campuses.
Planning is underway for a return to campus in fall 2022. Details will be shared in the weeks ahead.
Please continue to check YU Better Together for the most current information and ongoing updates.
Sincerely,
Lucy Fromowitz
