Andy is currently a Senior Audit Manager at Royal Bank of Canada, where he leads all aspects of audit engagement, including planning, executing, and reporting. In addition, he is a facilitator in the CPA Ontario’s Professional Education Program (PEP).

Education
Andy holds both Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Finance from the University of Toronto, and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.

Andy has over 12 years of experience in progressively responsible roles within the financial service industry, primarily focusing on financial reporting, performance measurement and assurance & auditing.

Professional experience
Andy Tse, MTax, CPA, CA, is an assurance and taxation professional with over 14 years of experience. He began his accounting career in assurance and then took a role in financial reporting. Later, he developed an interest in taxation and joined a global accounting firm where he worked on tax audits, advisory, and compliance engagements for some of the largest companies in Canada.

Teaching philosophy
Andy believes that one of the most important aspects of accounting education is instilling in students the ability to integrate technical knowledge with practical applications. Without practical applications, technical knowledge is interesting but of limited value to practicing accountants; without technical knowledge, the ability to practice accounting is severely limited by the inability to analyze known facts and determine the correct accounting treatment. This integration between theory and practice can be difficult for many students, and enabling them to make this link is his primary goal as an instructor.

Aron has a Masters of Accountancy (MAcc) with a major in taxation from Brock University and also holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA, CA, CMA).

Professional experience
Aron has in excess of 15 years of experience working in both accounting and taxation. He has held various positions in accounting firms, and is currently employed by the public sector. In addition, he has taught post-secondary education since 2009 in the areas of intermediate financial accounting, advanced financial accounting, and personal taxation.

Accounting – Analysis & The Use of Financial Information

Current role
Bartosz has over 10 years of auditing and accounting experience in the public and private sectors. He is currently an Audit Director at the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario, where he oversees value-for-money audits of various government ministries and agencies. Previously, he served as a Senior Auditor for Ernst & Young.

Education
Bartosz is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a BBA (Accounting) from York University.

Professional experience
Bartosz has over 7 years of experience teaching auditing and accounting for CPA Ontario, University of Toronto and York University, where he has received recognition and awards for his excellence in teaching and creating a positive learning environment for his students. He is also a contributing author to Auditing: The Art and Science of Assurance Engagements 13th edition, 2015, a widely used university textbook in accounting and audit courses.

Teaching philosophy
I work hard to make classes welcoming and interactive so students feel comfortable joining the discussion and trying new things. I love showing how course concepts connect to real life, helping students leave class feeling confident and ready to use what they’ve learned.

Calvin is currently a manager at a global accounting firm where he performs financial statement audits in financial institutions, including clients in banking and asset management sectors. He is enthusiastic about audit innovations through data analytics with a “data-first” mindset.

Education
Calvin earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours – Accounting and Economics) from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Waterloo. He holds Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA, CA) as a member of CPA Canada and CPA Ontario.

Professional experience
He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) in audit and assurance practice in both public and private sectors. He is actively involved with CPA Canada’s Professional Education Program (PEP) to prepare CPA candidates for their success in their journey to becoming a CPA. He has been a facilitator and session leader in various PEP modules and a marker at the national marking centre since 2017. He believes understanding “why” in a subject is more critical than just knowing how to deal with it.

Calvin strives to deliver content that helps students deeply understand core concepts and principles, fostering genuine comprehension rather than surface-level memorization. She loves facilitating learning because she enjoys seeing students develop their knowledge, skills and confidence.  Business today wants employees who will be life-long learners and knowing that she might have a part to play in developing your skill level and confidence as a continuous learner makes her feel great about what she does.

Carol’s goal is to spark curiosity, build self-efficacy, and nurture a lasting interest in the subject. Her learning environment employs diverse instructional strategies such as collaborative learning, real-world problem solving, and traditional quizzing to support varied learning styles and foster each student’s unique strengths.

Desislava has taught numerous accounting, finance, and statistics courses to international and domestic adult learners.

Desislava is a proud York University alumna. She graduated from the Bachelor of Administrated Studies, honors in accounting program, followed by the Chartered Professional Accountant (CGA, CPA) designation, and a Master of Business Administration, major in accounting, from Wilfrid Laurier University. To further enhance her teaching skills, she successfully completed the Adult Education/Staff Training certificate program at Seneca College.

Professional experience
Desislava is a highly motivated accounting professional with solid background in the areas of financial accounting, managerial and cost accounting, and business statistics. She has work experience in various industries such as energy, utilities, infrastructure, and manufacturing. Some of her roles include programs analyst, corporate accountant, senior project accountant, and others.

Rashed is a York U alumnus. He graduated in 2006 with a major in Accounting and a minor in General Management under the Bachelors of Administrative Studies program.

Professional experience
Rashed went on to obtain his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA,CA) designation while working with KPMG LLP. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional – International (CCEP-I). He looks forward to sharing experience and insights gained from nearly two decades of working as an internal auditor, risk consultant and a compliance professional.

Rav has over 18 years of experience teaching business. He has a wealth of industry experience being an entrepreneur and running his own Marketing and Event Management company. Rav has experience working with big brands such as TD Canada Trust, Unilever, Netflix, Lexus, and many more.

Rav is a strong believer in differentiated instruction, and understands that every student is an individual, varying his teaching style and evaluations to help bring out the best in each student. Stephen Credico currently works at KPMG LLP as a Manager in the assurance practice where he conducts financial statement audits and accounting advisory services for a variety of clients in both the private and public sectors.

Education
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Professional experience
Stephen is an Audit Senior Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors providing audit, review and accounting advisory services. In addition to teaching at the York University School of Continuing Studies, he is also a part-time sessional instructor at McMaster University.

Teaching philosophy
His teaching philosophy is to ensure students learn technical knowledge through practical examples to develop an understanding of complex topics.
