York University’s Certificate in Dispute Resolution will consider the following course exemption:

CSDR1130 Introduction to Civil Mediation Practicing lawyers, judges, and retired judges — as well as other professionals with substantial existing knowledge of civil and tribunal-based mediation processes — may be exempt if requested before program start.

If you intend to pursue a professional mediation designation (e.g., through the ADR Institute of Ontario), please review that body’s education/training requirements when considering an exemption request, as these requirements apply at the time you apply for accreditation.
