Denine Das joined as Scotiabank’s first ever Vice President, Global Inclusion in November 2023.

Professional Background:
With over 20 years of Human Resources and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) leadership experience across multiples industries including Bell Canada, Toronto International Film Festival, and Infrastructure Ontario, to name a few. Denine has dedicated the past two plus decades to providing continuous education on human rights, accessibility, anti-racism and belonging. In her current role, Denine is supporting the global business strategy and ensuring that Scotiabank’s global diversity, equity & inclusion strategies and programs align with the overall goals, values and philosophies of the Bank and leads the Bank’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Indigenous Inclusion centre of expertise and inclusion culture, including human rights and social justice.

Current Role:
Marian MacGregor is the Executive Director of the Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion at York University.

Education:
Marian has a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Toronto, an LLB from the University of Windsor Law School and a M.A. in Critical Disability Studies from York University.

Professional Experience:
Prior to taking on this role Marian was the Equity Advisor at the Law Society of Ontario where she was instrumental in implementing the recommendations under the Challenges Faced by Racialized Licensees. Marian’s legal career has been spent within the human rights sphere as well as delivering legal services to low-income individuals and families throughout Toronto as a staff lawyer in the legal clinic system. In her role as Executive Director at CLASP, the Student Legal Clinic at Osgoode Hall law school, Marian created a program for law and social work students to provide an interdisciplinary service to the clients of the clinic. Marian also co-founded the Disability Law Intensive at Osgoode Hall Law School in partnership with ARCH The Disability Law Centre.

Current role
Kamilah Reid-Burrell is the Director of Inclusion Consulting, Strategic Partnerships & Program Delivery (NA) and Regulatory Governance (Can) at BMO Financial Group, where she collaborates on the design and implementation of enterprise-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies. Kamilah leads the integration of DEI principles into business objectives, manages Canadian regulatory compliance, and directs strategic partnerships and programs.

Professional experience
Kamilah Reid-Burrell is a social impact leader who works with organizations to foster equitable and inclusive workplaces. With experience leading DEI efforts at BMO, Rogers Communications, and Pearson Education Canada, she has expertise in strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, regulatory compliance, and data analysis, always focused on creating inclusive environments that advance organizational goals.

Professional Experience:
Olivia Nuamah has a rich background as a senior leader in government and nonprofit sectors, she has championed social and economic justice initiatives, including leading national anti-poverty strategies. Her diverse experience also includes working with former British prime minister Tony Blair on police reform and implementing his pledge to end child poverty in the UK by 2020. Most recently, she contributed to the Ontario government’s efforts to end homelessness across the province. Currently pursuing a PhD in computer science, Olivia is known as an executive leader, policy expert, and passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion.

Professional Experience:
Strategic and relationship-focused, with a passion for organizational change, Ryna is a leading force in Executive Search dedicated to delivering integrated talent solutions to the organizations and leaders she works with.

As Regional Head, Executive Search and DEI Co-Lead of KBRS based in Toronto, Ryna plays an integral role in providing holistic approaches to talent strategy and executive search drawing on her extensive expertise in talent attraction, coaching, and DEI strategy. With close to 25 years of experience, she has a proven track record of supporting leaders across a range of functions spanning the c-suite, boards, operations, human resources, IT, sales, finance, and accounting in both public and private sectors.

In addition to leading executive search work, Ryna collaborates with DEI Co-Lead, Amorell Saunders N’Daw, to continue to support clients with their diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies, through equitable practices, informed counsel, and proven approaches.
