Climate change is, arguably, the number one threat facing humanity. Want to learn how blockchain may help? Come join this “fireside chat” special event on January 19 at 12:00pm, featuring Sean Woodhead, Program Manager for Blockchain Development, and Instructor Victor Li from the Certificate in Blockchain Development. During this fireside chat, we will discuss how a climate change solution may require public blockchain for a global coordination mechanism with unique properties of decentralization, transparency and traceability. A brief overview of the Certificate in Blockchain Development will also be provided.

About the speaker:
Victor Li, Instructor, Blockchain
Victor is a veteran financial economist and investment analyst with 20+ years of experience investing across multiple asset classes, including real estate, infrastructure, and fixed income. He graduated with a Master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Victoria and is a CFA charterholder. Victor is a national leader in the DeFi community and currently teaches in the full-time version of the blockchain development program at York University School of Continuing Studies, where he teaches in CSBC1020 Blockchain Applications for Industry.
