November 18, 2021 – Fall 2021 Full-Time Program Update
This notice was sent to all full-time students currently registered in a F21 program
Dear student,
We’re so glad you began your Post-Graduate Certificate with York University this September. Please note that at this time, we expect the second half of your program to be offered fully on-campus following the Winter Break which runs December 23, 2021 to January 6, 2022. Please carefully read the important information below.
Visas:
You can log into your student portal and upload your visa information in this area: https://continue.yorku.ca/visainfosubmission Once you are done, please ensure you click the “submit application” at the bottom of the page. After it’s been submitted, you can check it under the “my applications” section of your student portal. If there is a green check mark next to “submitted”, that means we have received your information.
In the rare case that you are refused entry to Canada, please contact us before your first class scheduled for January with the documentation provided by Canada Border Services. We will work with you to defer or refund your remaining classes.
Travel from Outside Canada:
Please note that the Government of Canada has enacted travel restrictions. When you have your travel arrangements in place, please notify our office at regscs@yorku.ca of your plans, which must include a plan for the Government of Canada mandated 14-day self-quarantine period. This means you will not have an opportunity to go grocery shopping or perform any other outdoor tasks to establish yourself in Canada. Please plan to arrive at least 14 days before your first class in January so that you can attend on campus.
As of July 5, 2021, fully vaccinated travellers may be exempt from some quarantine requirements. See Canada’s requirements for entry for fully vaccinated travellers for more details.
Health Insurance:
It is mandatory for all international students to have health insurance coverage while studying within Canada. Your coverage date started from the Saturday before the program start date and ends the Saturday after the program end date. Your insurance was ordered through Guard.Me and your policy information is available in your Guard.Me account. You can access your policy information by logging in here. You must use the email address that would be on file with the School of Continuing Studies. You can find a step-by-step guide on how to log in here. If you have difficulty logging in you can contact Guard.Me directly at customercare@guard.me
Access to Campus:
Anyone registered in our programs and/or accessing campus must upload proof of full vaccination. You must also follow the daily screening protocol on every day you come to campus.
If you have any questions, we encourage you to access York’s dedicated COVID-19 webpage, which includes answers to FAQs as well as links to supporting resources. An Information Session will be held on November 2, 2021 at 8am EDT. You can use this link to join the session.
As always, our student’s safety and educational experience is our top priority. We will provide you with relevant institutional and public health updates as soon as they become available. Please note that our offices are closed from December 23, 2021 to January 6, 2022.
