Job interview

This Fall, we launched an exciting new addition to our student experience here at the York University School of Continuing Studies.

Our students now have access to an online career services portal, powered by Resume Target, that provides access to 100’s of free resume templates, customized to industries ranging from accounting to technology. The portal also features helpful career articles and job alerts, adding an invaluable set of tools to our students’ career enhancement strategy.

“When the industry-leading employers we work with tell us what they’re looking for in new hires, it comes down to two things. They want skills of the specific profession, for example in Human Resource Management or Data Analytics. And they also want transferable skills, such as business writing, creativity, and communication,” says Tracey Taylor-O’Reilly, Assistant Vice-President, Continuing Studies. “This service will help our students identify and express both kinds of skills in their resume so they will get noticed in today’s rapidly evolving job market.”

In addition to resume support, our students also get a 10% discount on personalized professional career advising from the experts at Resume Target.

This level of online career support in continuing studies is another way our School is innovating and continuing to put our students’ needs first. We know the job hunt can be exhausting but, when you enrol in a program at the School of Continuing Studies at York University, you can rest a little easier knowing you’re ahead of the pack.
