A Note for Learners Considering the CPA Designation

This program was designed in alignment with current CPA Ontario requirements for PREP. CPA Ontario is introducing a new CPA Professional Program beginning in 2027, which will change the pathway to becoming a CPA. Our program does not currently satisfy these requirements.

York University’s School of Continuing Studies will continue to monitor these changes and work with CPA Ontario as the new program is introduced. If becoming a CPA is your goal, we encourage you to connect directly with CPA Ontario before enrolling to understand the requirements that may apply to you and how your prior education, knowledge and experience may shape your pathway.

CPA Ontario independently determines eligibility and recognition within the CPA designation pathway. For questions regarding the CPA designation, including the pathway to the designation, please contact CPA Ontario directly to understand your individual pathway and requirements.

You can also visit the new CPA Professional Program page to learn more about the upcoming changes and plan your next steps.
