DESCRIPTION:Join us for an online event to experience a virtual open class led by one of our data analytics instructors. In this session\, Dr. Preeti Raman will explore how data-driven intelligent applications impact every aspect of society\, including banking\, business\, science\, government\, finance\, and education. Through real-life examples and analogies\, this interactive virtual open class will help you understand how value accrues to data as it progresses through its lifecycle\, which entails collection\, cleaning and integration\, modelling and analysis\, decision-making\, and impact. \nREGISTER HERE\n\nAbout the Speaker: \n \nDr. Preeti Raman designs and investigates evidence-based\, data-enhanced hybrid learning experiences and technologies to support caring pedagogies across a range of settings. Her expertise is situated in the fields of Computer Science\, Affect Studies\, the Learning Sciences and AI in Education. \nAn accomplished professional with over 20 years of global technology consulting and teaching experience\, gained from working in North America\, Germany\, Hong Kong and India\, Preeti is a passionate advocate for the importance of Math and Technology education in driving innovation. She earned her doctorate in Curriculum and Pedagogy at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education\, University of Toronto where her work has been supported through multiple fellowships and scholarships. She holds an MA in Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development from the University of Toronto\, a Masters in Computer Science from Carleton University and a Bachelors in Computer Engineering from Bangalore University. Currently\, she is an educational researcher with the Teaching Systems Lab at MIT\, USA.
