Program Description

Certificate in Human Resources Management (Part-time)

Post-Degree Certificate in Human Resources Management (Full-time)

In just two terms, around nine months, this Post-Degree Certificate program will prepare you for a successful career in human resources.

The Post-Degree Certificate in Human Resources Management has been designed to help you gain a deeper understanding of the concepts and a richer network of professional contacts than is possible in other programs while successfully balancing your professional and personal responsibilities. Practise the skills and explore the knowledge that employers value in our interactive courses taught by expert practitioners.

Our Post-Degree program also includes a highly practical and applied course that focuses on critical business cross-functional competencies and addresses what employers say they look for when hiring and promoting.

Part-time

The online program is by far the most convenient option for completing this program — especially for busy professionals. York University’s accelerated, interactive online program helps you develop a rich network of peers while enjoying the convenience of learning at your preferred location. Study at times that fit your schedule as long as you complete the assignments on time.

Full-time

In Ontario, large gatherings are restricted. As such, this program will be offered in our “live online” format, which offers students the structure and group interaction of a face-to-face experience without travelling to York’s campus. Our live online classrooms enable students to hear and interact with the instructor and other students like in a normal classroom.

For the second half of the program, students can expect to be back on campus for in-class sessions with social distancing and health and safety measures in place.

CHRP designation

The York University Human Resources Management programs are recognized by Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) as meeting the coursework requirement for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. This requirement is met by students who complete all nine courses in the Certificate with a grade of 70% or better with no single course below 65% within ten years of the date they are registered to write the National Knowledge Exam (NKE). Students pursuing an external designation, such as CHRP, are responsible for ensuring that they satisfy the issuing association’s requirements.
