Fill out the form and we’ll get back to you with everything you need to know.
The Post-Graduate Certificate in Accounting will qualify you for roles in accounting and finance fields and get you the necessary industry experience before you ultimately earn your CPA designation. Excelling in an accounting position also requires much more than just technical knowledge. In fact, many top employers believe that emotional intelligence, critical thinking, communication, and business acumen are equally important skills to have. Accounting professionals who master these key competencies routinely receive the best job offers and promotions throughout their careers.
Our Post-Graduate Certificate in Accounting will deepen your understanding of accounting while simultaneously sharpening your critical thinking, communication, and management skills. The program culminates with a unique final capstone course where you will apply your knowledge to real-world business challenges.
Designed in consultation with senior industry executives, thought leaders, and prominent York University academics, the Certificate will equip you with relevant and in-demand knowledge. All course content can be immediately applied to your current (or future) role.
Graduates of this program are also qualified to go on to our Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Professional Accounting, which is available both part-time online and full-time in-class.
The online program is by far the most convenient option for completing this program — especially for busy professionals. York University’s accelerated, interactive online program helps you develop a rich network of peers while enjoying the convenience of learning at your preferred location. Study at times that fit your schedule as long as you complete the assignments on time.

In Ontario, large gatherings are restricted. As such, this program will be offered in our “live online” format, which offers students the structure and group interaction of a face-to-face experience without travelling to York’s campus. Our live online classrooms enable students to hear and interact with the instructor and other students like in a normal classroom.
For the second half of the program, students can expect to be back on campus for in-class sessions with social distancing and health and safety measures in place.
Format: Full-time
Delivery: Online + live online sessions
Term Starts: September, January, May
Program Length: 8 months
The full-time and part-time Post-Graduate Certificates in Accounting have received CPA Ontario recognition.
